Gartner Research: 4 Ways Generative AI Will Impact CISOs and Their Teams

According to Gartner, 89% of business technologists would bypass cybersecurity guidance to meet a business objective. Organizations should expect shadow generative AI, especially from business teams whose main task is to generate content or code.

Generative AI continues to create many question marks when it comes to how organizations can safely leverage it, and ensure the code and applications they write will be sure. There is no argument that the use of generative AI tools will have longtail impacts on both CISOs and their teams.

In this report, Gartner identified 4 key areas for consideration when it comes to leveraging generative AI tools:
  1. “Defend with” generative cybersecurity AI.
  2. “Attacked by” GenAI.
  3. Secure enterprise initiatives to “build” GenAI applications.
  4. Manage and monitor how the organization “consumes” GenAI.
